🐾 Personality & Temperament 🐾

Earnest is a sweet, gentle and lovely-natured boy who has really grown into himself as he has gotten older. He has definitely calmed down a lot, but he still has a playful side and absolutely loves running around and having fun with his doggy friends.

He gets along beautifully with the other dogs at the pansion and is wonderfully adaptable, happily accepting dogs with all different personalities and temperaments. He is not dominant or aggressive during play and simply enjoys being part of the group, whether that’s running around together or relaxing alongside his friends afterwards.

Earnest does have a shy side when meeting new people and can take a little time to warm up. Once he gets to know you and feels comfortable, his sweet personality really starts to shine through. He loves being close to people and enjoys affection, and we’re sure his confidence will continue to grow with someone who gives him the time and patience he needs.

One of the lovely things about Earnest is his balance. He can be full of energy when it’s time to run and play, but once he’s had a good run, he settles down beautifully and is happy to relax on the grass with the other dogs. He would love a family who can enjoy walks and playtime with him, while also giving him plenty of relaxed time to simply enjoy being part of the family.

Earnest has a previously broken tail, which happened when he was a puppy before we rescued him. The break is towards the tip and has always been this way. Thankfully, it causes him no problems whatsoever and does not affect his quality of life in any way.

Earnest really is such a gentle and adaptable boy with a lot of love to give. Give him a little time to get to know you and you’ll soon see the playful, affectionate and happy boy underneath💜

📖 Earnest’s Story 📖

Earnest was rescued alongside his sister Edith as part of a vulnerable litter of three puppies during our street feeding campaign. Sadly, one of the puppies didn’t survive – an all too common reality when young litters are abandoned. Their start in life was uncertain, likely without proper care or shelter, but thanks to a small fundraiser and a kind donor, we were able to give Earnest and Edith the veterinary care and support they needed to thrive.

Earnest has grown into a lovely young dog. He can still take some time to warm up to new people, but he has also grown into a much calmer and more settled boy. Once he feels safe, his sweet and affectionate nature comes through, and he loves spending time with the people and dogs around him.

His sister Edith has now found her forever home, and we would love nothing more than to see Earnest have the same happy ending 💜

Today, Earnest is ready for a home where he can continue to grow in confidence while enjoying all the simple things he loves: walks, playtime with his furry friends, affection and plenty of time to relax.

He may need a little patience at the beginning, but give Earnest the time to settle and trust you, and you’ll discover a gentle, playful and incredibly sweet companion waiting to come out of his shell 💜
