Meet Betty

👉🏼 Meet Betty! A puppy who survived the harsh Serbian streets.

One of our other dogs, Dorothy, is Betty’s mum. Dorothy was found living rough with her two puppies, without shelter and surviving on scraps. We discovered the little family during our Whispaws street feeding campaign and began feeding them regularly while working to find a safe solution. Sadly, before we could intervene, one of her puppies went missing.

As soon as space opened up, Dorothy and her remaining pup Betty were brought into Pansion care. Thankfully, both were negative for any serious medical issues and have since gone from strength to strength, supported by our team and the kindness of Whispaws donors. They now receive monthly preventative care to keep them happy and healthy.

Dorothy and Betty now spend most of their day apart but still see each other daily. Over time, Dorothy became increasingly possessive and protective of Betty, often appearing on edge. This dynamic began to hinder both of them, Betty wasn’t developing at a normal pace, and Dorothy needed the freedom to relax and no longer feel constantly on high alert for her baby.

They are now thriving and ready to be adopted separately.
